Cranes We Sell
Electric Cranes
- Auto Crane, Spitzlift Crane, Liftmoore Crane
- Range from 500lb lifting capacity to 2,000lb lifting capacity
- Battery operated with a limited duty cycle
- Rotation and boom controls can be manual or power
- No jackleg or outriggers required
Electric Cranes Over Hydraulic Cranes
- Auto Crane, Stellar Crane, Liftmoore Crane, Venturo Crane
- Range from 2,000lb lifting capacity to 6,000lb lifting capacity
- Built-in electric motor that controls the crane’s hydraulic system which in turn controls the functions of the crane
- Duty cycle is limited – motor and battery needs to cool to replenish
- Rotation and boom controls are normally fully powered, but crane extension may have a manual element with certain models
- Truck must be equipped with a jackleg or manual outriggers
Hydraulic Cranes
- Auto Crane, Stellar Crane, Liftmoore Crane, Venturo Crane
- Range from 3,200lb lifting capacity to 14,000lb lifting capacity
- Operates on a fully hydraulic system. Can be run from a PTO and pump
Connection attached to the truck’s transmission or from a self contained hydraulic system operating from a power source - Long duty cycles for constant operation
- Rotation and boom controls are fully powered
- Truck must be equipped with outriggers; these are normally tied into the truck’s hydraulic system along with the crane
- Hydraulic crane controls are proportional; allowing the operator to place equipment with precision

How to Choose the Right Crane for Your Project
Fully hydraulic cranes, electric over hydraulic cranes, and electric cranes all have different features designed for specific applications. Before you decide on a crane to purchase, several factors must be considered that will help you choose the right crane for your project.
Factors you need to consider when choosing a crane include:
- What load weight is the crane rated for?
- What is the reach of the crane?
- What will your crane operation duration be?
- What are the environmental and terrain conditions of the site?
- What is your budget?
Fully Hydraulic Cranes are a necessity for those needing lengthy duty cycles and a heavy lifting capacity. If the operator plans to run the crane for more than 10-15 minutes per hour or operate the winch longer than 2-3 minutes at a time, a hydraulic crane is what the job demands. In addition to the operating duration, if an operator needs to lift 7,000lbs or above, a hydraulic crane will be necessary as well. Fully hydraulic controls also allow an operator to “feather” the controls to allow for delicate placement.
Electric Over Hydraulic Cranes (also known as “EH” cranes) are built with an electric winch motor that is designed for intermittent duty cycles or “occasional use.” Brands vary but as a general rule, EH cranes are only designed to be used for 10-15 minutes of a given hour. The limit for the winch operation varies between 1.5-3 minutes of continual run time. These cranes can be fully powered, or can have power and manual components. EH cranes range in lifting capacity from 2,000lbs to 6,000lbs.
Electric Cranes are the most cost effective cranes but are limited in their duty cycles, lifting capacities, and reach. Like EH cranes, electric cranes are built with an electric motor and therefore have a limited duty cycle. These cranes normally have a lifting capacity between 500lbs and 2,000lbs and are mainly manual in their operation.
